The University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond provides exciting summer camp opportunities. We offer focused camp programs focused on conservation education and outdoors activities. Through our close partnership with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, we provide many programs that offer hunter safety, bowhunter, ATV, and boater safety certification.
UMaine 4-H Camp at Greenland Point

UMaine 4-H Camp at Greenland Point

The camp is nestled in the center of a 64-acre wooded peninsula known as Greenland Point on Long Lake in Princeton. Long Lake is one of several large lakes near Grand lake Stream in the Down East region of Maine. The camp includes traditional rustic log cabins that form a small village and a sporting-camp-style lodge and dining hall. The extensive waterfront includes an aquatics area, boating docks, and natural shoreline, providing swimming, boating and great fishing opportunities. The forested location boasts hiking trails and unique natural features to explore, and includes remote campsites, and plenty of wildlife that call Greenland Point home. Camp Vega offers girls a wide variety of sports, arts, and camp traditions while focusing on building friendships, having fun and living by the Vega Values of empathy, gratitude, unity, self-belief and integrity. Great facilities and miles of hiking trails are nestled along nearly two miles of shoreline on Echo Lake and 300+ acres of fields and forest.

Along with our brother camp, Kieve Camp for Boys, Wavus Camp for Girls provides a wide variety of in-camp activities paired with a progressive wilderness tripping program for girls ages 8-16. Located on the shores of Damariscotta Lake, the two campuses provide all the creature comforts one would expect from a traditional camp setting. Wilderness trips range from local overnight trips for the youngest campers to 21 night trips for the oldest campers. Our highly trained and experienced staff, many of whom were Wavus campers themselves, provide the perfect role model for our campers.
