Breakwater Summer Programs
Breakwater’s Summer Camp is available for children ages 3 – 18 in one, two, three, or four week sessions through the summer. Each session fosters a strong sense of community, creating lasting bonds with new friends and our dedicated summer staff. From first day icebreakers to mid-session special events and last day culminating events, care and thought is put into the whole experience.
Breakwater’s summer programming is fun, enriching and creates opportunities for curiosity, inquisitiveness, innovation, creativity, self-confidence, optimism, self-motivation, citizenship and stewardship. Our summer camp staff are professionals in their fields who bring their creative expertise and passion for teaching and learning to our many exciting programs. Breakwater offers a variety of programming in Visual & Mechanical Arts, Cuisines & Cultures, Recreation, Aerials & Circus, Performing Arts, and overnight Expeditions.
Our Early Childhood program (toddler, preschool and entering kindergarten) enjoy outdoor time and a range of structured and unstructured activities. Rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders explore nature, arts, games, and cultures in their small groups. Campers who are entering 4th through 9th choose and participate in explorations for a well-rounded summer camp experience. Rising 5th – 9th graders have the option to participate in overnight Expeditions throughout Maine and New England. Breakwater also offers leadership opportunities for high school students as Counselors in Training (CIT).
