Acadia Institute of Oceanography
The Acadia Institute of Oceanography offers a hands-on, field program that allows students age 10-18 a comprehensive introduction to the science of oceanography. Founded in 1975 and located in Seal Harbor, Maine, over 200 students from around the country and the world spend two weeks on the coast of Maine exploring the physical, chemical and biological aspects of marine science. At the heart of the program is an experienced and qualified group of educators trained in the field of oceanography. Rising juniors and seniors may attend one of the advanced sessions for college credit. We also run a 9-day career seminar in Florida and a 9-day tropical program in Belize.
