Monday, December 11: Access Funding to Train YOUR Camp Staff, 12-1pm via Zoom
Charlie Galemmo and Maureen O’Brien from Maine’s Community College System will share details about funding for staff training available from the Harold Alfond Center for the Development of Maine’s Workforce and the Maine Workforce Development Compact (MWC). As an employer in Maine, your camp can join the Compact at no cost. Take advantage now and learn how your camp can get reimbursed for 50% of the training expenses for each employee up to $1,200 per employee per year. This is a statewide Compact and the process to recover employee training costs is simple and straightforward. Please note: employees must be 18, HS grads (or equivalent), and Maine residents. Seasonal employees who reside at your camp during the summer may access grant funding regardless of off-season residency. This is done by using the camp address as their seasonal address. Please check out the attached flyer and join us at the webinar with your questions.
To access grant funding you must first make your camp/business/organization a Compact member. It’s easy to do, just follow this link: Become A Member. Click on the get started button at the bottom to go to the application. It takes 5 minutes to fill out.
After you receive confirmation of being a member you can request funding by going to this link: Request Funding
MSC is coordinating this virtual conversation and webinar with Charlie and Maureen in mid-December, so camps are prepared to access this stream of funding right away in 2024. [In fact, your camp can be reimbursed for half the registration cost for each attendee you send to the MSC Winter Workshop.] Click HERE to register for the Zoom link.
