2011 Statistics

56 Candidates attended test camp
2nd Year Candidates 6 out of 8 Passed
1st Year Candidates 20 out of 48 Passed
26 of the 56 Candidates achieved JMG certification making a passing rate of 46.4%

The weather was interesting, to say the least!  Tuesday afternoon a typical Franklin County thundersorm rolled through twice and Wednesday saw more of the same. The Good news they didn't have to worry about the woods being dry or the roads dusty.

Andrea Erskine, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife visited Tuesday with the deparatment's Safety Officer Mike Sawyer.  Andrea stayed for lunch learning a great deal about the JMG program. JMG 2011 Whittling

Reggie Hammond, Oquossoc's local warden, was Wednesday's campfire speaker. He delivered a great message on what it is like to be a warden.  This was Reggie's third visit to JMG camp.
Don & Stephanie Palmer, directors of the newly opened Rangeley Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum in Oquossoc, visited camp on Thursday evening.  Don gave an early history lesson on the development of the sporting industry in Rangeley.  Stephanie spoke about the role of Cornelia "Fly Rod" Crosby, the state's first Registered Maine Guide.
