Membership Eligibility:

  1. Camp Member: All organized children’s camps that operate in Maine and are licensed by the State of Maine as youth camps, or are operated under the control of another organization by the Department of Health & Human Services, or are not required to be licensed by the Department.
  2. Business Membership: All persons or entities that provide products or services to Maine children’s camps.
  3. Individual Members: All other persons, provided however, that no person who is affiliated with a Maine children’s camp may be a member unless the camp with which that person in affiliated is a member unless this requirement is waived by the Corporation.

Membership Policies:

  • Dues: Separate camp membership dues shall be paid for each separately identified camp.
  • Membership Term: The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30.
  • Ethical Code: All members agree to abide by MSC’s Code of Ethics.

Camp Member Services & Benefits

Applies to any organized camp that operates in Maine and meets the criteria in category 1 above.

  • Listing on the MSC website (links and enhanced listing available for additional fee)
  • Monitoring of Governmental Regulations
  • Annual Business Directory with special MSC discounts
  • Quarterly MSC newsletter
  • Periodic Action Bulletins of breaking news, legislative alerts and time-dated information
  • Access to password protected members only information on MSC website
  • Professional advocacy in Augusta on camp issues
  • Discounts on Educational Seminars, Junior Maine Guide registrations and Camp Fair
  • Involvement
    • Network with peers via quarterly meetings & fellowship gatherings
    • Participate on Board & Committees
    • Have a voice in MSC policy agenda

  • One complimentary set of MSC member mailing labels each year
  • Job postings camp positions (space available basis)

Note: The MSC website reaches over 200,000 people, families, libraries and schools each year.

Camp Membership Dues:

Annual Membership dues are based on .00180* of all income available for summer operations, including tuition, fees, dividends, camperships and contributions. Exclude all capital funds. The minimum dues are $110, the maximum payable is on a scale determined by camp revenue (see chart below.)

*Day camps calculate .00116 of summer income (Minimum $110)

Dues provide you with one voting member, who will receive MSC mailings, newsletters and other information.

Business Membership

Available to persons or entities who provide products or services to Maine Children’s camps.

  • Listing in the annual Maine Summer Camps directory
  • Listing on the Maine Summer Camps web site with link to your business
  • Inclusion in the MSC Business Directory
  • Quarterly MSC newsletter with opportunity for full page ad (additional fee)
  • Opportunity to participate in our annual face to face Business/Camp Networking event (January)
  • Periodic Action Bulletins of breaking news, legislative alerts and time-dated information
  • One complimentary set of camp member labels free each year
  • Network with camp operators via fellowship gatherings and other events
  • Opportunity to SPONSOR the Directory of Maine Summer Camps (additional fee)

Business Membership Dues: $260 per year.

Introductory rate: 1/2 price dues available for first time members $130. (We offer substantially discounted dues for very small, sole proprietor businesses – please inquire.)
