MAINE YOUTH CAMPING ASSOCIATION
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES

Categories:

1. Camp Members: All organized children's camps that operate in Maine and are licensed by the State of Maine as youth camps, or are operated under the control of another organization by the Department of Health & Human Services, or are not required to be licensed by the Department.
2.  Business Membership:  All persons or entities that provide products or services to Maine children's camps.
3.  Individual Members:  All other persons, provided however, that no person who is affiliated with a Maine children's camp may be a member unless the camp with which that person in affiliated is a member unless this requirement is waived by the Corporation.

Camp Dues Policy:
            Dues:  Separate camp membership dues shall be paid for each separately identified camp.

Camp Members

Any organized camp that operates in Maine and meets the criteria in category 1 above.Camping is great

  • Listing in the annual directory, Children’s Summer Camps in Maine (circ: 15,000)

  • Listing on the MYCA website (links available for additional fee)

  • Monitoring of Governmental Regulations

  • Professional advocacy in Augusta on camp issues

  • Group Buying Guide with special MYCA discounts

  • Quarterly MYCA newsletter

  • Periodic Action Bulletins of breaking news, legislative alerts and time-dated information

  • Discounts on Educational Seminars & Junior Maine Guide registrations

  • Involvement

    • Network with peers via quarterly meetings & fellowship gatherings

    • Participate on Board & Committees

o      Have a voice in MYCA policy agenda

And, being part of Maine’s only professional association dedicated to organized Youth camping!

  • Job postings for year round positions (space available basis)

  • Access to password protected members only information on MYCA website

Please Note: The directory reaches 15,000 people - families, libraries and schools in the U.S. each year; the web reaches thousands more all over the world.
 

Camp Membership Dues:
Annual Membership dues are based on .00155* of all income available for summer operations, including tuition, fees, dividends, camperships and contributions. Exclude all capital funds.  The minimum dues are $100, the maximum payable is on a scale determined by Camp revenue see chart below.
Revenue of $1M- <$2M Fees due: $1600
Revenue of $2M- <3M Fees due: $1800
Revenue of $3M & over Fees due: $2000



 


*Day camps calculate .0010 of summer income (Minimum $100)
 

Dues provide you with one voting member, who will receive MYCA mailings, newsletters and other information.
Introductory ½ price dues available for first time members.

Business Members

 Any Member persons or entities who provide products or services to Maine Children's camps.

  • Inclusion in the MYCA Buying Group Directory

  • Quarterly MYCA newsletter

  • Periodic Action Bulletins of breaking news, legislative alerts and time-dated information

  • One complimentary set of member labels free each year

  • Network with camp operators via fellowship gatherings and other events

  • Annual listing in the MYCA Newsletter, Spring issue.

  • Opportunity to SPONSOR the Directory of Summer Camps (circ.15,000) including a full page complimentary promotional ad.

  • Opportunity to place NEWSLETTER PROMOTIONAL INSERTS in the quarterly newsletters, announcing your services and specials (for an extra fee).

Business Membership Dues:  $235 per year.  Introductory ½ price dues available for first time members.

Individuals Members
