Walden’s program blends tradition with contemporary thinking to develop girls’ self-esteem, confidence and leadership. Our Honor System, run by a council of camper representatives, promotes values of honesty, respect, personal and community responsibility, and consideration of others. We use individualized scheduling to balance camper interests with the need for growth and challenge. Our activities include water sports (swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, skiing), land sports (tennis, riding, soccer, softball, lacrosse, archery, climbing wall, ropes challenge), and art (dance, drama, ceramics, drawing, painting, jewelry, enameling). Blended into the summer is an extensive trip program for all ages, including scenic mountain hiking and canoeing trips which inspire appreciation for the New England environment. Life-long friendships are made in Walden’s beautiful woodland setting.
