Chewonki offers three separate summer
programs: traditional boys camp, wilderness camp for girls, and a
variety of coed wilderness trips for teens.
Camp Chewonki for Girls is situated on Fourth Debsconeag Lake,
surrounded by 90,000 acres of conservation lands. Our progression
based tripping model offers in-camp activities and wilderness travel
for girls ages 9-16. In-camp activities include: campcraft,
woodworking, art, map & compass, sailing and more. Special emphasis is given
to natural history, ecology, wilderness canoeing and hiking trips.
No previous experience is necessary. We teach the necessary skills
for a successful experience. A Chewonki summer develops new skills
and interests, creates a collaborative community through the
guidance of our exceptional staff, and emphasizes an appreciation
for the natural world.
