Canoeing at Camp Chewonki.

Chewonki offers three separate programs: traditional boys’ resident camp, a girls’ wilderness program, and a variety of COED wilderness expeditions.

Located on a 400-acre coastal peninsula, Chewonki’s non-competitive boys camp program emphasizes nature, sailing, kayaking and wilderness trips, and includes much more.  The wilderness expeditions for teenagers include: sailing or sea kayaking along the coast, whitewater kayaking, canoeing and/or hiking, and a unique kayak-building expedition.

No previous experience is necessary.  We are here to teach you all the necessary skills for a successful experience.  A Chewonki summer offers the opportunity to develop new skills and interests, and each camper returns home with substantial personal growth. During the school year, Chewonki offers a high school semester for 11th graders, and environmental education program for schools.
